Japan has a thriving pseudoscientific industry built on blood type personality theory — "ketsueki-gata." Type A is said to be methodical, Type B selfish, Type O resilient, Type AB unpredictable. Job listings have requested blood type. Partners have been rejected over it. This is called "blood type harassment" (bura-hara) and is taken seriously enough that several major companies have officially banned it.
