The Dutch are Europe's best sleepers — about 65% get the recommended 7+ hours per night. In a crowd of 2,000 Dutch adults, roughly 1,300 are adequately rested. The explanation is partly structural: shorter average commutes, more outdoor cycling, and a work culture that genuinely discourages after-hours emails. The Dutch have a phrase — "doe maar gewoon" (just act normal) — which includes going to bed on time.
